Linguist Contractor – Chinese, Simplified

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and edit AI/machine translated documents within Phrase TMS (translation tool/CAT editor).

• Assess and modify translated content (outside of Phrase) across various formats, including assets for both print and digital applications.

• Consistently apply designated glossaries, style guides, and translation memories across all project deliverables.

• Comprehend the terminology and preferences of both BTS and the client.

• Proactively identify and report any concerns regarding scope, timelines, or quality.

• Adhere to all agreed-upon project deadlines.

• Collaborate closely with the NAM Translation team on various projects and deliverables.

• Access and share documents with the team via Box (a cloud-based service).

⛳️ Requirements

• A native speaker of Chinese (Simplified).

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

• Residing in the United States (or North America).

• At least 3 years of experience in professional translation, localization, or translation review.

• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating changes in both English and the target language.

• Detail-oriented and meticulous.

• Flexible - understands the demands of translations and corporate work, with adaptable availability for accepting assignments.

• Can maintain confidentiality - will adhere to BTS and client data security and intellectual property policies.

• Collaborative mindset, willing to engage with the NAM Translation team, the local BTS team, or the local client team as necessary.
