This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and address the complete employee exit process across various international jurisdictions, focusing on delivering an exceptional offboarding experience for Remote's clients and their employees.

• Offer expert advice and manage client inquiries on a range of HR issues, including but not limited to termination, resignation and transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes, ensuring adherence to legal standards and best practices.

• Facilitate and lead discussions with clients and external employees, including but not limited to workforce reduction consultation meetings, administrative hearings, negotiations regarding separations and settlements, providing direction on terminations, and communicating termination outcomes.

• Negotiate and influence favorable outcomes in complex termination scenarios, balancing the interests of multiple stakeholders.

• Collaborate with and coordinate various internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance during offboarding activities and audits, including but not limited to payroll, legal counsel, government entities, and trade unions.

• Accurately draft, customize, and manage all termination and supplementary documents, ensuring employee records are maintained with a strict focus on privacy and confidentiality regulations.

• Execute offboarding processes on Remote's internal HRIS platform, partnering with multiple internal teams, such as Customer Success, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, Time and Attendance, among others, to ensure that all aspects of the employee exit are handled correctly and promptly.

• Serve as the subject-matter expert, addressing internal and external inquiries related to all offboarding matters in collaboration with Lifecycle's internal stakeholders.

• Guide clients through Remote's Employee Relations resources and guides, assisting them in understanding relevant policies and processes.

• Conduct initial evaluations of workplace concerns, pinpointing key facts and relevant local regulations.

• Work alongside internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management of employee relations issues.

• Aid clients in grasping progressive disciplinary methods and documentation requirements.

• Track ongoing employee relations cases, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination with relevant parties.

• Proactively identify and contribute to opportunities for process improvements, automation, product development, and enhancing overall customer and employee experiences through offboarding and employee relations procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience as a HR Advisor or HR Business Partner, possessing generalist HR skills and exposure across the employee lifecycle.

• Demonstrated experience with a solid background in managing both voluntary and involuntary exits (terminations) with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance; and providing comprehensive HR support and guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions.

• Capability to interpret and apply industrial instruments, analyze complex HR challenges, conduct research, propose practical solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in ambiguous and unfamiliar environments.

• Basic understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline strategies, and fundamentals of workplace investigations.

• Exceptional communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to confidently navigate challenging conversations toward positive outcomes, often when parties have conflicting interests, while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality.

• Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English, with additional languages viewed favorably.

• Desire and capacity to innovate and enhance processes, consistently identifying and implementing automation opportunities and championing best practices.

• Operational efficiency with a strong awareness of the importance of thorough record-keeping and data integrity.

• Tech-savvy, capable of collaborating asynchronously using various tools, and adaptable to new and evolving systems.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international team in a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment with multiple priorities. Flexibility to work varied hours as necessary.

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Exhibits strong automation and AI capabilities and fluency in AI technologies.
