This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Evaluate written materials and AI-generated outputs for technical precision, relevance, and professional standards.
• Analyze engineering evaluations, suggestions, and conclusions against established civil engineering practices.
• Detect calculation mistakes, unsupported assumptions, missing constraints, and technical discrepancies.
• Respond to civil engineering inquiries with articulate, well-founded technical explanations.
• Utilize professional judgment in design, analysis, documentation, and project delivery contexts.
• Examine safety, constructability, site conditions, and applicable regulations.
• Provide corrections along with supporting justifications.
• Review the application of ASCE, IBC, and AASHTO codes and standards.
• Identify trustworthy reference materials and evaluate cited methods and requirements.
• Emphasize jurisdictional, technical, and procedural factors.
• Offer practical insights into civil engineering workflows, documentation, and quality control processes.
• Assess content related to AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Review technical specifications, design documents, calculations, and project materials.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a small team of subject matter experts from various fields.
• Contribute civil engineering knowledge to an AI research project.
• Engage in content assessment, technical question response, reference evaluation, and structured feedback.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in civil engineering.
• Active Professional Engineer license in the United States.
• Degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Experience in structural, geotechnical, transportation, water resources, or various civil engineering fields.
• Strong knowledge of relevant engineering codes, standards, and technical documentation.
• Practical experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, STAAD, Revit, or similar software.
• Proficient in English, with strong written communication skills, technical reasoning, and attention to detail.
• Reliable availability for approximately 10 hours per week.
• Current residency in the United States is required.
• Active US Professional Engineer license is essential.
