This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Evaluate written material and AI-generated outputs for technical precision, relevance, and professional standards.
• Examine calculations, analyses, suggestions, and conclusions for adherence to sound chemical engineering practices.
• Detect erroneous assumptions, process design flaws, safety issues, and technical discrepancies.
• Respond to chemical engineering inquiries with clear and well-founded technical explanations.
• Utilize professional judgment in process design, plant operations, process safety, and engineering documentation.
• Analyze operating conditions, material characteristics, equipment limitations, and safety requirements.
• Provide corrections along with supporting justifications.
• Review the application of process safety standards and industry guidelines, including OSHA PSM and pertinent API standards.
• Identify reliable technical references and evaluate whether the cited methods, standards, and assumptions are appropriate for the process context.
• Emphasize safety, regulatory, operational, and procedural considerations.
• Offer insights into practical workflows, tools, and quality control processes within chemical engineering.
• Assess content involving Aspen, MATLAB, process simulators, or similar engineering software.
• Examine process documentation, standard operating procedures, calculations, and technical training resources.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a small team of subject-matter experts from various disciplines.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in chemical engineering.
• Valid Professional Engineer license in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Experience in process design, process safety, plant operations, or various areas of chemical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of process safety standards, technical documentation, and engineering workflows.
• Practical experience with Aspen, MATLAB, or comparable process simulation and analytical software.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Excellent written communication skills, technical reasoning, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Reliable availability for approximately 10 hours each week.
• Must be based in the United States.
