This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist, engage in, and coordinate with engineers and other professionals in support of license renewal and subsequent license renewal activities throughout the U.S. nuclear power fleet.
• Transform LR/SLR commitments and aging management program requirements into executable field inspection and implementation plans.
• Conduct visual inspections such as VT-1/VT-2 or equivalent.
• Facilitate changes to procedures, develop preventive maintenance basis and frequency, create and review work orders, and update nuclear program basis documents.
• Plan inspections and aging management activities to ensure compliance with NRC regulations, LR/SLR commitments, and relevant AMPs.
• Establish and sustain sample populations and inspection scopes.
• Identify LR/SLR opportunities within online and outage work scopes utilizing work management and planning systems.
• Screen and evaluate extensive work order and preventive maintenance lists to pinpoint high-value inspection opportunities.
• Collaborate with schedulers, planners, and field organizations to integrate aging management requirements into work sequences and outage plans.
• Create and maintain AMP basis, PM basis, and supporting technical justification documentation.
• Conduct data validation, track engineering changes, and manage configuration control.
• Support NRC commitment tracking and closure, including technical responses, inspection packages, and closure documentation.
• Serve as a technical authority for clients and NRC, articulating aging management strategies, inspection plans, and results.
• Work alongside mechanical, electrical, and structural SMEs, program owners, and field leads.
• Integrate NUREGs, NEI guidelines, and industry operational experience into program documents, implementation strategies, and inspection plans.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior engineers.
• An associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and analysis of nuclear, industrial, or DOE facilities.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and/or participating in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience overseeing medium-to-large critical projects.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in providing guidance, mentorship, and training to junior engineers.
• Licensed Operator for a Utility.
• Experience delivering precise, high-quality technical documentation in a highly regulated setting.
• Familiarity with engineering documentation systems, nuclear QA/QC protocols, and configuration management procedures.
• Strong systems thinking abilities, balancing innovation with compliance, safety, and traceability.
• Capability to utilize work management systems, including work orders, PMs, and planning tools.
• Ability to align technical requirements with actionable work packages and schedules.
• Proficiency in collaborating with SMEs and field organizations using drawings, historical data, previous WOs, and other data sources.
• Preferred experience with license renewal, SLR, and aging management.
• Preferred familiarity with NRC, INPO, or DOE regulations, as well as NRC audits or inspections.
• Knowledge of NUREG-1800, NUREG-1801, NEI 95-10, NUREG-2191, NUREG-2192, NUREG-2221, NEI 17-01, and/or NUREG-1555.
• Several years of experience in nuclear work management, outage or online planning, system engineering, or maintenance engineering.
• Practical knowledge of mechanical systems and components, including pumps, valves, strainers, tanks, heat exchangers, and piping.
• Ability to relate materials and environments to aging mechanisms such as loss of material, pitting, erosion, selective leaching, and coating degradation.
• Background in mechanical maintenance/engineering, system engineering, NDE/inspection, chemistry/corrosion engineering, or field construction/trades.
• Prior hands-on or close-support experience with plant modifications or maintenance on mechanical systems in a nuclear or similarly regulated environment.
• Experience working on cross-functional project teams that deliver complex, multi-outage implementation scopes.
