This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Create levels that provide meaningful and engaging experiences, striking a balance between challenge, reward, and player progression.
• Collaborate closely with various departments (art, programming, narrative) to weave gameplay mechanics, visuals, and storytelling into cohesive levels.
• Organize and engage in playtesting sessions, evaluating player feedback to enhance and optimize level designs.
• Monitor the progress of level design, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and that any issues are promptly identified and addressed.
• Collaborate with programmers and technical artists to confirm that levels are achievable within the game’s technical limitations.
• 5–7 years of experience in game design with a strong emphasis on FPS level design.
• Involvement in at least two AAA titles and a robust portfolio featuring polished, well-structured levels.
• Profound understanding of gameplay systems, mechanics, narrative design, and player psychology, with the ability to balance difficulty and pacing.
• Proficiency in scripting and advanced tools to develop dynamic, interactive environments.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with art, programming, sound, and narrative teams; strong communication skills and openness to feedback.
• Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and iterate based on testing and feedback.
• Experience in designing levels across various genres and creating immersive environments through environmental storytelling.
• Familiarity with Unreal, Unity, CryEngine, or proprietary engines; strong scripting/programming skills for events, triggers, and AI behaviors.
• Ability to inspire and support the team, mentor junior designers, and provide constructive criticism.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and adaptability in addressing diverse design challenges (combat, narrative, puzzles).
• Strong conflict-resolution abilities and the capacity to maintain a positive and productive team atmosphere.
