This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• In close collaboration with Via's external payroll partner, you will manage the monthly payroll processing for Via in Germany.

• Understand German tax requirements, changes in wage and tax laws, as well as other regulatory modifications and requirements that may impact payroll.

• Conduct regular audits of our payroll data to ensure the accuracy of employee payment information.

• Design and implement process improvements and internal controls for the payroll process.

• Ensure that deductions for benefits and taxes are calculated and reported accurately and on time.

• Oversee all aspects of the monthly financial reporting process related to payroll.

• Assist with escalated employee inquiries regarding payroll issues that cannot be resolved by the support team.

• Take on ad-hoc projects and other tasks to support the broader team.

• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding all payroll information and employee data privacy initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in payroll processing in Germany.

• Technologically proficient, with a strong understanding of the HRIS system landscape such as P&I, Loga, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to execute payroll tasks completely, accurately, and timely with minimal supervision.

• Passion for process improvements and the development of innovative solutions.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to completing tasks with the highest level of accuracy.

• Proven experience collaborating with internal teams and juggling multiple priorities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact and communicate at various levels within our organization.

• Fluent English is required; German is a plus.
