Legal Technology Consulting Director – Discovery and Data Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead various client engagements and foster strong relationships.

• Supervise all facets of project delivery and administration.

• Mentor and support team members to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality client outcomes.

• Build robust client relationships and provide outstanding service.

• Conduct assessments of the eDiscovery process, structure, technology, and expenditure.

• Choose, implement, and transition legal hold, data preservation, collection, processing, ECA, and document review systems.

• Propel eDiscovery process and program enhancement initiatives, including operating models, workflows, playbooks, dashboards, and preferred provider programs.

• Analyze systems, compile data inventories, map data flows, advise on data hygiene, and support defensible disposition efforts.

• Offer augmented eDiscovery case management, system administration, and managed legal hold services.

• Lead workshops with senior legal and IT stakeholders.

• Benchmark eDiscovery processes, technologies, reporting, metrics, costs, expenditures, and team structures.

• Formulate recommendations and implementation roadmaps for client leadership.

• Align current workflows with technology-enabled processes and integrations.

• Produce process documentation, workflow diagrams, playbooks, SOPs, matrices, checklists, trackers, and other deliverables.

• Define test scenarios for processes, technologies, integrations, data transfers, and hosting models.

• Establish change management strategies and promote user adoption.

• Create training materials and conduct end-user training with technology providers.

• Oversee implementation project schedules, budgets, scope, status reporting, issues, and coordination with third-party vendors.

• Act as the primary client contact and escalation point.

• Assist in quarterly business reviews and enhance project delivery methodologies.

• Engage in strategic initiatives and community enrichment programs.

• Contribute to business development, proposals, pitches, statements of work, vendor relationships, conferences, and thought leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in legal consulting or technology implementation in a client-facing advisory role.

• Extensive experience with eDiscovery processes and technology assessments, platform selection and implementation, team structures, operating models, documentation, or best practices.

• Practical experience with implementing Exterro, RelativityOne, Reveal, DISCO, Everlaw, Nuix, OpenText, or similar systems.

• Strong familiarity with M365 Purview, Google Vault, Slack, and their data preservation functionalities.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Science, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Data & Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

• Understanding of EDRM and FRCP.

• Knowledge of leading eDiscovery technologies and service providers.

• Awareness of eDiscovery stakeholder roles and responsibilities.

• Insight into legal operations and eDiscovery platform integrations.

• Familiarity with information governance and data hygiene practices.

• Understanding of IT implementation methodologies and controls.

• Experience in managing project budgets, resources, and timelines.

• Capacity to handle multiple concurrent engagements and clients autonomously.

• Exceptional written, data-driven, and verbal communication skills with an ability to tell compelling stories.

• Strong attention to detail and capability to produce polished client deliverables.

• Willingness to engage in self-study and learn new concepts and technologies.

• Interest and desire to develop generative or other AI-enabled solutions.

• Permanent US work authorization is required.
