This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and mentor department staff, which includes training and conducting performance evaluations.

• Effectively delegate tasks to ensure smooth workflows and the timely completion of projects.
• Manage comprehensive client relationships for one or more research and/or library clients based on skillset and expertise.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to a team of research professionals, offering direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Promote a client-focused research culture that values analytical rigor, responsiveness, and ongoing professional development.
• Encourage the adoption of best practices in legal research methodologies, knowledge synthesis, and information dissemination.
• Supervise and guide intricate legal, regulatory, and business research and intelligence tasks in support of Client attorneys and practice groups.
• Ensure that research outputs are timely, accurate, relevant to practice, and aligned with Client priorities and risk tolerance.
• Direct the organization, access, and governance of digital research resources to enhance efficient information retrieval and reuse.
• Collaborate with knowledge management, practice innovation, and IT teams to ensure research tools align with attorney workflows.
• Guarantee compliance with copyright, licensing, and ethical research standards across all research and intelligence efforts.
• Advocate for the evaluation, implementation, and adoption of AI-powered legal research, analytics, and intelligence tools.
• Work with IT and business services to evaluate emerging legal technologies that improve research quality, speed, and insight generation.
• Stay updated on trends in legal technology, generative and agentic AI, data analytics, and information services, advising Clients on implications and opportunities.
• Lead research outreach initiatives specifically designed for particular Client practice groups or departments.
• Build robust relationships with attorneys and Client stakeholders to anticipate research needs and proactively deliver value.
• Occasionally present direct research findings, competitive intelligence, or market insights to Clients and Client leadership.
• Lead and engage in research-centric initiatives, including research workflow optimization, tool implementations, analytics projects, and service improvements.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and success metrics to ensure alignment with Client objectives.
• Clearly communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
• A Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent, is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in providing legal research, competitive intelligence, or knowledge services within a law firm, professional services, or corporate setting.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing or leading a research team or function.
• Extensive familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, Bloomberg Law, and associated analytics tools.
• Proven ability to convert complex research into practical, attorney-focused insights.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships, research budgets, and making data-driven decisions.
• Knowledge of emerging legal technologies and trends, including generative or agentic AI applications in legal research (experience using or training on these tools preferred).
• Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage credibly with attorneys, clients, and senior stakeholders.
• An analytical mindset with robust problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
