This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Offer compliance advisory assistance to business partners regarding consumer finance and payments regulations.
• Aid in the intake, monitoring, and execution of Compliance Operations, Advisory, and Financial Crimes Compliance tasks.
• Conduct second-line oversight assessments of complaint management and participate in trend and root-cause evaluations.
• Keep issue/action logs, verify remediation strategies and evidence, and track progress until resolution.
• Assess initiatives for compliance implications, control preparedness, and necessary approvals or escalations.
• Perform pre-usage compliance evaluations of marketing and customer communications.
• Assist in compliance evaluations for product development related to new offerings and significant initiatives.
• Facilitate third-party compliance efforts for vendors that engage directly with customers.
• Aid in BSA/AML transaction monitoring, alert and case assessment, and resolution.
• Support sanctions/OFAC screening and management of watchlists.
• Contribute to CIP and CDD/EDD processes, including handling identity-verification exceptions and control assessments.
• Assist in drafting SAR narratives and compiling supporting documentation.
• Counsel business, product, and operations teams on financial crime regulations and control expectations.
• Assist in responding to subpoenas and regulatory information requests, including inquiries under FinCEN Section 314(a).
• Create written memos and governance-ready summaries for leadership and partner reporting.
• Help gather information for regulatory reviews, examinations, audits, and supervisory events.
• Support various compliance-related initiatives and projects as assigned.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, laws, and compliance requirements relevant to consumer financial products and services, including BSA/AML, the USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC/sanctions.
• Experience in compliance operations/advisory, risk management, quality assurance, or other control/oversight functions.
• Excellent written communication skills for producing clear documentation, memos, and evidence packages.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Analytical mindset, sound judgment, and a proactive approach.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
• High integrity and strong ethical judgment.
• Working knowledge of transaction monitoring, alert/case management, sanctions screening, CIP/CDD, and SAR processes, or a demonstrated ability to learn these quickly.
• Comfort with high-volume data and structured review workflows.
• BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration, legal studies, information systems, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in consumer finance, fintech, banking, or another regulated sector is preferred.
• Financial industry compliance-related certifications such as CAMS are a plus.
• Experience in supporting complaint management oversight, issues management, change management, marketing review, product compliance evaluations, financial crimes compliance, or third-party oversight is highly desirable.
