This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Review completed legal documents to ensure they meet established quality-control standards.
• Confirm that identifying, confidential, and sensitive information has been properly managed.
• Detect omissions, discrepancies, or processing errors.
• Consistently apply review standards across extensive volumes of documents.
• Refer ambiguous or unusual cases for further analysis.
• Examine commercial contracts and business agreements.
• Evaluate corporate records and organizational documentation.
• Assess financing and debt instruments.
• Review insurance policies and related commercial materials.
• Analyze employment and HR documentation.
• Evaluate intellectual property and technology agreements.
• Identify sensitive or identifying information within employment and technology-related files.
• Review regulatory filings and compliance-related documents.
• Assess litigation files and associated legal records.
• Review real estate agreements and property-related legal documents.
• Evaluate tax filings and related records.
• Develop clear criteria for evaluating legal documents.
• Convert legal review requirements into understandable criteria applicable by non-legal professionals.
• Establish practical categories for defects and review standards.
• Refine evaluation criteria based on recurring issues or unclear cases.
• Identify and categorize defects found during document review.
• Differentiate between significant processing issues and minor inconsistencies.
• Adhere closely to written quality control protocols.
• Contribute to enhancements of existing review procedures when appropriate.
• Qualified lawyer based in the U.S.
• Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Relevant background as an in-house lawyer, commercial counsel, or general legal practitioner.
• Comfortable handling a diverse range of commercial legal document types.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume review tasks.
• Capable of consistently following detailed written protocols.
• Strong judgment in identifying and escalating ambiguous legal-document issues.
• Experience in managed document review, e-discovery, contract management, or data privacy is highly beneficial.
• Proven ability to enhance review protocols and quality-control processes.
• Broad legal experience is preferred over deep specialization in a single area of practice.
• All work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, institution, or other third party.
• H1-B and STEM OPT support is not available for this position.
• Flexible scheduling based on project demands.
• Fully remote work within the United States.
