This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Review and negotiate various types of agreements, including but not limited to service agreements, procurement agreements, carrier agreements, confidentiality agreements, and others!
• Offer general legal counsel across multiple areas to assist the Group’s daily business operations, including but not limited to employee-related issues and regulatory and legal compliance matters.
• Draft tailored contracts (e.g., agency/referral agreements, commission agreements, etc.).
• Aid in resolving disputes that may arise from time to time.
• Support team initiatives related to legal operations.
• Assist with special projects as directed by the Legal Directors and the Chief Legal Officer.
• Contribute to the review of advertising and promotional content, including Megaport’s websites, online publications, new service information, and campaign materials.
• Assess new legislation and regulatory changes, communicating potential impacts to the business.
• Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Act as a strong advocate for the legal team throughout the organization.
• 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in reviewing and negotiating master-level agreements and providing business-related legal assistance.
• Must be qualified to practice in the jurisdiction where you are located, in good standing.
• Preferred experience includes work in an in-house position.
• Preferred experience in the IT/Technology sector and related agreements.
• Experience in a sales-driven organization is preferable.
• Exceptional negotiation and communication abilities with a strong focus on practical and commercial advice—plain English drafting is essential.
• Experience or exposure to the data center industry is highly valued.
• Privacy, information security, and regulatory experience/exposure are highly regarded.
• Employment law experience or exposure is beneficial but not required.
• Capacity to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple global teams with a high degree of independence and autonomy, while proactively raising questions.
• Strong commercial insight and a proven ability to provide practical and commercial advice while managing risk.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. You will support both internal and external stakeholders globally, so adaptability in your communication approach is crucial.
• Ability to handle competing priorities across various matters, jurisdictions, and time zones, set clear expectations, and adjust to meet deadlines.
• A natural relationship builder, capable of engaging with diverse individuals, fostering trust and respect effortlessly.
