Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the drafting, evaluation, and negotiation of commercial agreements, which include, but are not limited to, vendor contracts and privacy/data protection agreements.

• Offer practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on a diverse array of legal issues, encompassing privacy/data protection, healthcare, health regulations, product regulations, corporate/commercial matters, vendor due diligence, procurement, marketing, intellectual property, information technology/artificial intelligence, and human resources.

• Provide legal responses to client questionnaires and requests for proposals/information.

• Assist various legal, privacy, compliance, corporate governance, ethics, government affairs, and enterprise risk management programs or initiatives.

• Work alongside other subject matter experts as part of a cross-functional team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Membership in good standing with a Canadian law society/professional regulatory body.

• A minimum of 2-5 years of post-call legal experience.

• Bilingual proficiency in English and French.

• Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• A self-motivated individual eager to learn, exhibiting sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion.

• Capability to adapt to shifting business priorities and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment within a complex, multi-subsidiary global organization.
