
Legal AI Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more state.
β’ Lead intricate legal AI initiatives from strategy development to implementation.
β’ Formulate program frameworks, set priorities, establish decision-making forums, and drive momentum within client engagements.
β’ Provide guidance to General Counsel, legal operations leaders, and attorneys on AI use cases, sequencing, governance, and adoption strategies.
β’ Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across AI delivery, legal operations, workflow design, change management, and technology integration.
β’ Convert configuration, prompting, evaluation, workflow design, risk factors, and adoption indicators into actionable recommendations regarding scope, sequencing, staffing, and investment.
β’ Create an operational rhythm that ensures clarity and visibility while maintaining speed, fostering experimentation, and promoting ownership.
β’ Question weak use cases, unrealistic timelines, scope creep, and unsustainable decisions while ensuring executive alignment.
β’ Develop reusable frameworks, governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and implementation methodologies.
β’ Integrate market and client insights into Harbor Labs, influencing its delivery model, service offerings, and team development.
β’ Experience leading or significantly contributing to legal AI projects, encompassing use-case selection, workflow design, evaluation, deployment, and adoption.
β’ Established credibility with legal professionals and senior executives, including General Counsel and leaders in legal operations.
β’ Capability to articulate complex issues clearly and challenge initial directions with a well-informed perspective.
β’ Proven experience in structuring processes, testing innovative approaches, rapidly learning, and refining operational playbooks.
β’ Strong program judgment: adept at identifying critical decisions, surfacing risks early, sequencing tasks, and focusing teams on achieving results.
β’ Up-to-date AI knowledge across leading model providers, agentic workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation techniques, and enterprise AI trends.
β’ Hands-on experimentation with contemporary AI tools and a practical understanding of their functionalities.
β’ Comfort with uncertainty, change, evolving responsibilities, methodologies, and opportunities.
β’ Ability to collaborate with technical experts, consultants, operators, and client teams, leading without dependence on hierarchical structures.
β’ Relevant AI training or certifications are appreciated but not essential; demonstrated learning and applied experience are more significant.
β’ Experience within law firms, corporate legal departments, legal operations teams, legal technology companies, or professional services is advantageous.
β’ Familiarity with embedded, managed services, or recurring delivery models is beneficial.
β’ Experience in establishing governance, reporting, or program infrastructure for new or rapidly changing capabilities is a plus.
β’ Exposure to product thinking, service design, change management, or enterprise technology adoption is desirable.
β’ Experience working within global teams and navigating complex stakeholder environments is preferred.
