
Legacy Platform Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the support, maintenance, and enhancement of legacy applications developed using VB.NET and SQL Server.
• Resolve production issues across interconnected application and operational environments.
• Analyze incidents, determine root causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.
• Provide support for Windows Forms desktop applications and Windows service-oriented applications.
• Develop and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts.
• Oversee and troubleshoot integrations with OPC services and various IT/OT systems.
• Identify issues related to Windows operating systems, RFID scanners, printers, FTP processes, and other connected devices.
• Work directly with end users to understand challenges, communicate updates, and validate solutions.
• Engage in application deployments, testing, production validation, and ongoing system enhancements.
• Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and application knowledge bases.
• Collaborate closely with business, technical, and operational teams to ensure application reliability and continuity.
• Proven experience in supporting and maintaining enterprise applications within production environments.
• Practical experience with VB.NET.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Experience in supporting Windows Forms desktop applications and Windows services.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Familiarity with Windows operating systems and interconnected technical environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with end users and client stakeholders in English.
• Experience with incident management, production support, and application maintenance processes.
• Proficient in using version control tools like Git.
• Experience in Agile environments and with tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Experience with IT/OT integrations and OPC services (preferred).
• Experience in supporting industrial, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, or operational systems (preferred).
• Familiarity with RFID scanners, printers, FTP processes, and hardware-integrated applications (preferred).
• Knowledge of wholesale loading and shipping processes for rail or truck transportation (preferred).
• Experience with application monitoring, deployments, and production validation (preferred).
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar incident management platforms (preferred).
