Learning Strategist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Act as the main learning consultant for assigned business units, converting business strategies into focused learning solutions that enhance performance and foster growth.

• Ensure alignment of business learning strategies with Covetrus’ comprehensive L&D and talent development roadmap, maintaining consistency and enterprise-wide coherence.

• Collaborate with business unit stakeholders to evaluate skill gaps, performance issues, and capability requirements, providing guidance on when learning interventions are appropriate or not.

• Take ownership of the learning portfolio for designated business areas, guaranteeing that all programs are pertinent, effective, and aligned with strategic objectives.

• Manage the complete learning lifecycle—from needs assessment and design to implementation and ongoing support.

• Cultivate robust, trust-based relationships with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional partners throughout Covetrus.

• Collaborate with and mentor the Learning Experience Design team to ensure that solutions are engaging, relevant, and centered around human experience.

• Work with the design team to establish and implement success metrics for all learning initiatives, ensuring effective data collection, analysis, and communication.

• Promote a culture of learning, experimentation, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

• Over 10 years of experience in L&D or Talent Development, including at least 5 years in a consulting, strategic, or leadership role.

• Proven track record in leading learning strategies that yield measurable business results in complex, matrixed organizations.

• Proficient in instructional design, adult learning principles, and learning measurement techniques.

• Experience in managing enterprise learning portfolios and working collaboratively with senior business stakeholders.

• Strong skills in data storytelling and analysis; experience in creating learning dashboards is preferred.

• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and influencing capabilities.

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and drive projects to successful completion.
