
Lead Technician β Smart Home Automation, Programming

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
β’ Design, program, configure, test, and commission Control4 automation systems including lighting, AV, shades, and integration with third-party devices.
β’ Maintain and hold a valid Lutron RadioRA2/RA2 Select (or RadioRA) certification while executing programming and configuration of Lutron lighting and shade control systems.
β’ Collaborate with clients, designers, contractors, and other stakeholders to define system functionality, network/AV/automation requirements, and deliverables.
β’ Diagnose and resolve complex challenges related to automation, AV, shading, lighting control, and networking environments.
β’ Generate system documentation, configuration backups, job-site checklists, and handover materials.
β’ Mentor and support junior technicians and field installers; provide technical leadership both on-site and remotely.
β’ Engage in site setup, rack buildouts, low-voltage terminations, and final system acceptance with clients as needed.
β’ Ensure remote access, monitoring, and service protocols are maintained for deployed systems; proactively support client systems for optimal reliability and serviceability.
β’ Keep current with smart home industry trends, new integrations, and automation best practices.
β’ Comply with company policies regarding safety, professionalism, and client satisfaction.
β’ At least 3 years of practical programming experience with Control4 systems focusing on automation, lighting/shade/AV integration.
β’ Current Lutron Radiora3 certification.
β’ Knowledge of networking concepts (IP networks, switches, routing, VLANs, remote access, VPN) as they relate to smart home and automation systems.
β’ Strong background in AV/lighting/shading/integration, whether in residential or commercial settings.
β’ Exceptional troubleshooting abilities encompassing hardware, software, networking, and automation logic.
β’ Excellent communication skills with clients, capable of explaining technical details and providing client training.
β’ Self-driven, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
β’ Valid driver's license and readiness to travel to job sites as required.
