Lead, Technical Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a technical accounting consultant for management regarding intricate transactions

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and create comprehensive documentation packages

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex transactions and organization-wide projects

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to validate the company’s positions

• Prepare and evaluate technical accounting memos and other relevant documentation

• Keep track of accounting policies for necessary updates and compliance

• Offer guidance on the precise interpretation and execution of business control processes

• Convey accounting guidance and implications at the appropriate organizational level

• Foster collaborative relationships with segment and functional teams

• Support financial reporting tasks as required

• Recognize and implement opportunities for process enhancements and automation

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant accounting experience

• Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of relevant accounting experience

• In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of relevant accounting experience

• CPA with an active license

• Background in contract accounting, preferably involving U.S. Government contracts

• Big Four experience with audits of clients that are SEC registrants or U.S. Government contractors

• Strong technical and financial knowledge

• Prior experience in the Aerospace & Defense sector

• Familiarity with percentage of completion accounting, including estimates at completion

• Robust project management capabilities, with a proven ability to think holistically and handle multiple priorities/projects concurrently
