This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +2 more states.
• Collaborates with the Data Analytics team to evaluate client data for determining order profiles, storage media applications, product slotting, velocity, SKU affinities, and ABC analysis.
• Prepares engineering calculations and documentation to articulate solutions and detailed operational concepts, including storage and shipping capacities, facility sizing, zoning, slotting, and waving.
• Designs the comprehensive facility layout, storage media, and workflow, paired with the appropriate equipment that supports the Concept of Operations.
• Aids the business development process by assisting the solutions team in responding to RFPs, including the creation of materials and presentations for prospective clients.
• Assesses and contrasts manual and automated warehouse solutions, develops thorough ROI and payback analyses, and leverages these insights to inform data-driven warehouse layout, process, and design recommendations.
• Leads detailed engineering processes on new business awards, transforming designs from conceptualization to comprehensive designs ready for implementation through data analysis, development of material handling specifications, vendor collaboration for quotes, and generating detailed engineered AutoCAD layouts that fit within the selected facility.
• Conducts joint planning sessions with clients and performs gap analyses to ensure resolution of issues; identifies changes to the scope as they arise, providing necessary documentation and escalation.
• Participates in a team responsible for implementing new business by preparing WMS configuration documentation that encompasses all required locations, slotting, zoning, sequences for put-away and picking, and allocation rules for the facility.
• Supports the identification and design of new WMS and interface requirements necessary for development.
• Manages material handling and automation vendors through scheduling, permitting, installation, commissioning, punch lists, etc., while validating all equipment installations, including essential performance testing.
• Provides post go-live support and troubleshooting.
• Offers leadership and develops/mentors junior engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent relevant work or military experience.
• 4 years of engineering experience in supply chain management, logistics, warehousing, or a related field.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• 8-10 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer.
• Experience with advanced data tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Python.
• Extensive experience with AutoCAD.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Experience in time study measurement, such as MOST, is a plus.
• Background in Third-Party Logistics (3PL), warehousing, distribution centers, or fulfillment experience.
