This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Engage and lead development initiatives across globally distributed software teams.
• Ensure that global applications are suitable for international markets.
• Demonstrate the ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask while coordinating team efforts and reporting progress to stakeholders and management.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather comprehensive information regarding the challenges at hand and implement short- to mid-term strategies to enhance products for future success (UX / Design / Product / PMO, etc.).
• Objectively assess multiple approaches and recommend the optimal technical direction supported by logic and reasoning.
• Actively participate in the design of service layer architecture.
• Produce high-quality code.
• Take ownership of the complete development and deployment cycle for your software.
• Foster and develop the skills of fellow developers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production application issues, often those not directly related to your work.
• Automate testing, deployments, performance monitoring, and recovery processes.
• Proven experience in lead engineering and development roles.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Strong backend development expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement clean, scalable, and well-structured APIs.
• Experience with Java 17+ or other JVM languages.
• Proficiency in modern frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience in Test-Driven Development.
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration practices.
• Understanding of contemporary software architectural trends and practices.
• Prior experience with Design Patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud service providers.
• Familiarity with CI/CD servers (GitLab/Jenkins).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other orchestration/scheduling frameworks.
• Experience in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) development environment.
• Working knowledge of one or more database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
