Lead Scrum Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinements) for one or more Scrum teams, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of IT system increments.

• Establish and maintain JIRA Boards to create AGILE documentation, monitor team progress, ensure transparency of work, and provide insights on team performance through burndown charts, velocity tracking, and other pertinent metrics.

• Collaborate with the Project Manager, Technical Architect, and Product Owners to align the team's efforts with customer objectives.

• Act as the primary liaison between the team and stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.

• Track and report team progress using approved tools (e.g., Jira, GitHub, ServiceNow), contributing to Biweekly Status Reports with updates on sprint outcomes, impediments, and resolutions.

• Proactively identify and eliminate any blockers or obstacles that may impede the team's ability to achieve their sprint goals.

• Support the integration of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices into team workflows, ensuring seamless coordination with release schedules and deployment pipelines.

• Identify risks early, collaborate with the team to address them, and escalate as needed.

• Ensure Agile execution is in line with client standards, contract requirements (PWS/CDRLs), and SDLC controls.

• Assist with audit readiness, documentation, and traceability (requirements → delivery).

• Integrate Agile delivery with program governance and reporting structures.

• Support customer demonstrations, user engagement, and the incorporation of operational feedback.

• Align team execution with program-level objectives, roadmaps, and milestones.

• Coordinate efforts across multiple Scrum teams.

• Collaborate with DevSecOps and platform teams to ensure smooth integration into CI/CD pipelines.

• Support automated testing, release management, and deployment readiness.

• Facilitate all Agile ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives).

• Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement.

• Assist with backlog refinement in partnership with Product Owners and stakeholders.

• Ensure the delivery of incremental, mission-aligned capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Secret – Fully Cleared Only, must confirm clearance is active.

• DoD 8140 intermediate certification or DoD 8570 IAM Level II certifications or higher.

• US Citizens Only.

• 8+ years of software project experience with at least 5 years working on agile teams.

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is required.

• Experience in DevSecOps environments (CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, cloud platforms).

• Proficiency with Agile tools (Jira, Confluence).
