This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Independently evaluate lease and loan transactions for healthcare clients, including hospitals, health systems, physician practices, outpatient facilities, and other provider organizations.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, payer mix, reimbursement trends, debt obligations, and credit history.
• Examine industry-specific risk factors such as reimbursement dependence, regulatory exposure, patient volume trends, and operating margin volatility.
• Assess guarantors, ownership structures, and management capabilities.
• Draft clear and well-supported credit memoranda complete with risk ratings and recommendations.
• Structure healthcare financing transactions to minimize risk through pricing, tenor, amortization, collateral, and guarantees.
• Evaluate various types of equipment and their usage, along with associated residual or usage risks.
• Collaborate with Sales to align customer solutions with sound risk principles.
• Work alongside Legal to guarantee enforceable security interests, UCC filings, and adherence to credit policy.
• Oversee the underwriting workflow from credit approval to deal closure.
• Provide ongoing credit oversight for a designated healthcare portfolio.
• Conduct quarterly, annual, and MAC reviews, tracking financial performance, covenant compliance, and early warning indicators.
• Monitor changes in reimbursement models, payer concentration, or financial conditions that may influence credit quality.
• Propose risk mitigation strategies, restructures, amendments, or credit escalations as necessary.
• Ensure that underwriting and portfolio management practices conform to internal credit policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
• Maintain a keen awareness of healthcare regulatory and reimbursement landscapes and their implications for credit risk.
• Contribute to the advancement of healthcare underwriting standards, risk frameworks, and portfolio monitoring methodologies.
• Act as a subject matter expert in healthcare credit and mentor junior analysts on intricate transactions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field (or a high school diploma/GED with over 10 years of relevant experience).
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in credit analysis or underwriting, ideally within healthcare finance, commercial lending, or equipment leasing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across Sales, Legal, Capital Markets, Asset Management, and Operations.
• Capability to independently manage complex healthcare credits while exercising sound risk judgment.
• Strong skills in financial statement analysis and cash flow evaluation.
• Experience in underwriting lease and loan structures, including collateralized transactions.
