This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.
• Oversee the QA function across various engineering teams – establish quality benchmarks, strategies, and scalable frameworks.
• Guide and manage QA Analysts and Engineers – support their growth into their best selves through coaching, constructive feedback, and career advancement opportunities.
• Develop and implement testing strategies, encompassing manual and automated testing, regression, performance, and exploratory testing.
• Create insightful dashboards and metrics to assess QA performance: including test cases created and executed, bug leakage, regression rates, and more.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to act as a quality gatekeeper, reviewing product specifications, technical documentation, and code when needed.
• Promote continuous enhancement of QA processes, tools, and team interactions.
• Ensure a comprehensive understanding of the product within the QA team so that test cases are not only exhaustive but also pertinent and user-focused.
• Foster a robust quality culture by partnering with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
• Transform data into insights by effectively converting test metrics into dashboards and reports that inform team performance and product health.
• Over 10 years of experience in Quality Engineering, including 4–5 years of leadership within engineering teams, showcasing a strong history of building, mentoring, and scaling high-performing teams.
• Proficient programming skills in Java, with an emphasis on tooling and automation.
• Extensive experience in testing APIs, microservices, mobile native, and web applications.
• Proficient in working with Linux/Unix environments and cloud infrastructure (GCP, Docker).
• Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL databases, and pub-sub technologies.
• Experience in non-functional testing, covering performance, security, and monitoring/alerting.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins / GitHub Actions / Harness).
• Familiar with AI/ML-based test generation or test impact analysis.
• Significant experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and leading small-to-medium teams.
• Strong technical background, including hands-on coding and a thorough understanding of software development.
• Proven ability to cultivate collaboration, trust, and transparency across diverse teams.
• Experience in owning and managing system architecture for large-scale, secure, and scalable platforms.
• Capability to mentor, recruit, and develop engineering talent in a setting that values continuous learning.
