
Lead Producer – Pioneers of AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Present ideas for guests and episode topics
• Collaborate closely with the host to define the show's editorial voice and structure
• Oversee the production workflow and schedule of the show to guarantee timely publication
• Work with the video editor, mix engineer, and talent booker, assigning tasks within the team
• Guide the host during interview recordings
• Edit episode audio using Descript and compile sessions in ProTools
• Coordinate with the mix engineer for episode sound design, mixing, and mastering
• Draft outlines and scripts for the host
• Ensure the show's voice is consistent across all platforms (with support from the Editor/EP and Host)
• Manage recording logistics, such as booking studios and dispatching recording kits
• Work alongside the video editor, providing editorial guidance and feedback on episode videos
• Collaborate with the marketing team to prepare social media and promotional materials for the show
• Engage in creative brainstorming and support general WaitWhat franchise initiatives like live events and webinars
• Partner with video, design, technology, events, audience engagement, and all WaitWhat teams on content creation, production, management, and promotion
• Assist the EP of Pioneers of AI in sharing timely updates with the team, including content, data, objectives, and budget
• Maintain a service-oriented approach with internal and external partners
• Approach all tasks with a constructive mindset and a ‘no job too big or too small’, ‘all hands on deck’, ‘we can find a way’ attitude
• Over 5 years of experience in audio production within podcasting or radio, particularly with deadline-driven interview formats; prior experience in leading a show is preferred
• A strong curiosity and thoughtfulness regarding cutting-edge technology and its societal implications
• Proven ability to work effectively with hosts
• A passion for working 'in tape'
• A genuine interest in entrepreneurial narratives and an understanding of their value to listeners
• Proficient in Pro-Tools editing is essential
• Familiarity with Descript (or similar software) and a Descript-to-ProTools workflow
• A proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented problem solver
• A strong desire to research and tackle unfamiliar tasks
• Experience in organizing media assets, directory structures, and optimizing post-production workflows
• Effective time management skills to juggle multiple projects
• A straightforward communicator with the sophistication and maturity to engage effectively with both internal and external partners
• A hands-on individual who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while building a capable team
