Lead Platform Engineer – HP Nonstop, Infrastructure Platforms

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, configure, maintain, and provide support for HP Nonstop infrastructure, communications server software, file transfer platforms, and associated systems software.

• Establish, modify, and assist with customer connectivity, which includes creating new connections and updating file transfer software.

• Offer advanced problem-solving and resolution for issues related to infrastructure, connectivity, file transfer, and distributed systems.

• Collaborate with development, operations, security, and infrastructure teams on implementations, incident management, releases, disaster recovery, and ensuring platform reliability.

• Enhance scalability, resilience, performance, security, and operational efficiency across infrastructure services.

• Create and maintain scripts, tools, automation processes, and repeatable workflows.

• Assist with CI/CD deployment planning, release verification, rollback strategies, and post-release evaluations.

• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and configuration management methodologies.

• Support containerized, distributed, and microservices-based application environments.

• Assess security, compliance, operational, audit, disaster recovery, and risk management requirements.

• Produce technical documentation, operational procedures, implementation plans, troubleshooting guides, and materials for cross-training.

• Aid in business continuity and disaster recovery testing.

• Provide technical advice to peers, operations teams, and development partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in supporting HP Nonstop environments, as well as operating system concepts, communications server software, and file transfer platforms.

• Experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, or supporting reliable infrastructure services within complex enterprise settings.

• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, availability, resilience, performance, fault tolerance, monitoring, and operational support.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure engineering, scalable platform design, resilience, security, and cost-efficient operations.

• Basic understanding of CI/CD practices, release automation, deployment validation, and controlled implementation processes.

• Experience with scripting, programming, automation, or infrastructure tools.

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, or automation frameworks.

• Experience with container platforms, orchestration concepts, or application platform services.

• Understanding of microservices concepts and their infrastructure dependencies.

• Ability to identify, analyze, and document security, compliance, audit, and operational requirements.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities for intricate infrastructure, connectivity, and platform challenges.

• Capability to collaborate with vendors, development, operations, security, internal departments, and management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the capability to produce technical documentation.

• Ability to work independently and informally mentor or assist others.
