This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take ownership of PCB layout from initial concept to final release utilizing Altium Designer.
• Design multi-layer boards (4–12+ layers) for applications including: Battery Management Systems (BMS), DC-DC converters, and power stages, as well as high-current distribution.
• Optimize for: high-current paths and low impedance, thermal performance, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• Define stack-ups and engage directly with fabrication and assembly partners.
• Create and maintain component libraries and establish design rules within Altium.
• Assist in the bring-up, debugging, and rapid iteration processes.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB layout.
• Strong proficiency in Altium Designer.
• Demonstrated expertise with power electronics, including buck/boost converters and switching regulators.
• Experience with high-current and/or high-voltage layouts.
• Familiarity with EMI-aware design practices.
• Solid knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-2152).
• Understanding of thermal and current density considerations.
• Capability to work independently and adapt quickly in a startup environment.
