
Lead Payroll Specialist – DACH

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Serve as a genuine subject matter expert for the country.
• Maintain and manage relationships with key stakeholders in Payroll Implementation, Finance, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Handle complete end-to-end payroll processes in-house, including statutory filing requirements, exceptions, approvals, payments, and compliance.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of all payroll data.
• Oversee payroll journals and reconciliations.
• Concentrate on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Develop, implement, and enhance processes for improved efficiency.
• Provide mentorship and support to payroll specialists.
• Serve as a backup for regional managers during their absences.
• Experience in end-to-end payroll processing, either in-house or with a payroll service provider.
• Familiarity with payroll best practices.
• Proficient in software tools such as Excel and Google Suite.
• Possess an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international work environment, with a desire to make a meaningful impact.
• A productivity enthusiast who consistently seeks ways to enhance and expedite work processes.
• Understand the importance and ideal nature of working primarily asynchronously.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• While prior remote work experience is not mandatory, it is considered a plus.
