This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Ensure the payroll is processed accurately, punctually, and in accordance with country-specific regulations and statutory obligations.
• Manage the complete payroll execution for designated jurisdictions, which includes validating payroll inputs, performing payroll calculations, and handling post-payroll activities.
• Act as a subject matter expert on payroll requirements for different countries, keeping informed about legislative, tax, and regulatory changes that could affect payroll operations.
• Assist in the operational implementation and rollout of payroll services in new or expanding regions, ensuring that payroll execution processes are effectively integrated into operational workflows.
• Serve as a primary point of coordination for internal teams and external stakeholders regarding country payroll issues.
• Identify and address payroll discrepancies, operational risks, or compliance challenges, exercising sound judgment when escalating complex issues.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of payroll operational processes, pinpointing opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance operational transparency.
• Aid in the development and maintenance of payroll documentation and operational knowledge to ensure processes remain clear, scalable, and compliant with internal governance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system enhancements, statutory updates, and operational improvements that affect payroll.
• Contribute to the implementation of automation and AI-driven tools that enhance payroll operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Engage in testing activities associated with payroll system developments, enhancements, and process improvements to guarantee operational readiness.
• Possesses significant mid-senior career experience in Polish payroll operations, including direct responsibility for comprehensive payroll processing in Poland.
• Has overseen payroll in multi-country environments or global organizations, with familiarity with various payroll systems and local regulatory frameworks.
• Exhibits a robust understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance obligations.
• Comfortable working with internal and external stakeholders within Remote’s payroll ecosystem and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Analytical and detail-oriented, possessing strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to navigate complex payroll situations.
• Strong written and verbal communicator, adept at working in asynchronous and globally distributed settings.
• Takes responsibility for outcomes, proactively raises risks, and approaches operational challenges with curiosity and accountability.
• Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic start-up environments.
• Proficient in payroll tools and data analysis utilizing both in-house and external platforms.
• Experience working within remote or globally distributed teams is advantageous.
• Demonstrates strong proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
