Lead OutSystems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and framework of OutSystems applications utilizing the 4-Layer Canvas and ODC domain-driven design methodologies.

• Determine non-functional requirements, integration necessities, and standardized style guides for OutSystems applications.

• Evaluate applications for performance, architectural integrity, and adherence to best practices; implement enhancements as needed.

• Create intricate OutSystems web and mobile applications within O11 and ODC environments.

• Establish and manage REST/SOAP integrations with essential banking systems, trading platforms, CRM solutions, and third-party financial services APIs.

• Enhance OutSystems capabilities using C#/.NET when the platform’s native features are inadequate.

• Apply responsive UI/UX designs utilizing OutSystems UI frameworks, Angular, or React.

• Perform structured code reviews and offer insights on architecture and secure coding protocols.

• Guide junior and mid-level developers and assist with OutSystems certification pathways.

• Facilitate technical grooming sessions, design evaluations, and solution walkthroughs.

• Serve as the OutSystems subject-matter expert for platform inquiries, escalations, and architectural choices.

• Oversee deployments through LifeTime and ODC Portal, encompassing environment promotion, hotfixes, and rollbacks.

• Work in collaboration with DevOps/DevSecOps teams on CI/CD integration and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Identify and rectify performance bottlenecks, memory challenges, and integration issues.

• Engage in release planning, sprint ceremonies, and capacity estimation.

• Support multi-team or dual-shore delivery environments when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field.

• Over 7 years of overall software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years of direct OutSystems development (O11 required).

• Expertise in .NET/C#, SQL Server (or equivalent RDBMS), JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Experience in delivering OutSystems applications in a financial services, banking, or similarly regulated sector.

• Profound knowledge of Service Studio, Integration Studio, LifeTime (O11), ODC Studio, and ODC Portal.

• Background in designing and constructing enterprise REST/SOAP integrations and troubleshooting API-driven workflows within OutSystems.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and version control systems (Git or equivalent).

• Strong grasp of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, Jira, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.

• Experience in integrating OutSystems with external systems.

• Ability to independently handle a workload with competing priorities.

• OutSystems Professional Developer or Architecture Specialist certification, or the willingness to obtain within 6 months of hiring (preferred).

• Familiarity with ODC domain modeling, external libraries, ODC Portal deployment, and cloud-native architectural patterns (preferred).

• Proficiency in Angular 10+, React, or TypeScript (preferred).

• Experience in integrating OutSystems with core banking platforms, payment gateways, clearing systems, or financial data APIs (preferred).

• Awareness of OWASP Top 10 remediation and penetration testing responses (preferred).

• Previous experience in multi-team, dual-shore, or fast-paced delivery settings (preferred).

• Knowledge of AI Mentor Studio, Agent Builder / Agent Workbench, and ODC/Service Studio AI-assisted functionalities (preferred).
