This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +5 more countries.
β’ Act as the main technical resource and senior escalation contact for the Operations team.
β’ Engage hands-on in all essential duties β provisioning, upgrades, configuration management, performance tasks, and customer support.
β’ Lead the response to large-scale incidents while managing the resolution of smaller ones.
β’ Maintain communication with significant and strategic customers during incidents and escalations β doing so clearly, calmly, and professionally even under pressure.
β’ Write incident post-mortems and spearhead actionable follow-ups and process improvements derived from them.
β’ Consistently enhance CDN reliability, performance, and operational excellence throughout the platform.
β’ On-call & Escalations: We offer 24/7 incident and customer support coverage, with you being the primary technical contact in the escalation hierarchy. You will handle escalations outside of regular working hours. Major incidents will be directed to you as they occur, rather than at your convenience. This is a critical aspect of the role, and we seek candidates who are fully aware of this. In return, you will have a clear escalation path of your own β ensuring you are never managing a major event in isolation. The escalation path is as follows: Operations team > Lead Operations Engineer > VP of Engineering > CTO.
β’ Extensive experience in Linux system administration at scale.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of HTTP and caching mechanisms.
β’ Strong knowledge of networking principles β routing and TCP/IP.
β’ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve intricate, customer-facing issues.
β’ Capability to reverse-engineer system architectures with minimal documentation and document them for team use.
β’ Effective and professional communication with customers during high-pressure situations.
β’ Practical experience with Nginx, HAProxy, Varnish, BGP, anycast, and CentOS / RHEL / Rocky Linux.
β’ Proficiency in a scripting language (Bash, Python, PHP, or similar).
β’ Experience operating in high-availability, latency-sensitive environments.
