Lead Localization Operations Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership and lead intricate, cross-functional localization initiatives from strategy formulation to execution, acting as the sole point of accountability for technical localization operations.

• Convert strategic priorities into actionable technical roadmaps while identifying trade-offs at the earliest stage.

• Design, innovate, and deploy scalable localization solutions utilizing AI and machine translation to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve delivery efficiency.

• Influence Airbnb’s technical localization strategy and contribute to long-term technology roadmaps alongside localization leadership and internationalization engineering teams.

• Oversee technical partnerships and integration solutions with external Language Service and Technology providers.

• Propel ongoing enhancements in localization processes, automation, and quality frameworks on a large scale.

• Collaborate with engineering, product, localization operations, leadership, and external vendors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 9 years of experience in Technical Program Management or Product Management.

• Proven capability in delivering global, technically complex solutions and programs independently.

• Extensive knowledge in localization and internationalization.

• Experience in implementing comprehensive localization solutions or integrating AI-driven tools such as machine translation engines, LLMs, or AI-assisted content evaluation systems.

• Strong technical proficiency, including familiarity with language technology APIs and machine translation pipelines for localization and content processing.

• Ability to foster innovation and shape technical roadmaps in collaboration with business owners, internal stakeholders, engineering, product teams, and external partners.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Proficient in translating complex technical and AI/ML concepts into clear, actionable narratives for non-technical audiences and senior leadership.

• Experience working directly with senior leadership as a strategic advisor.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory.
