Lead Infrastructure Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, execution, and management of IT infrastructure.

• Create scalable infrastructure solutions that align with business needs.

• Manage the deployment, configuration, and upkeep of virtual server environments.

• Support the enterprise network infrastructure while ensuring optimal system performance.

• Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers.

• Implement security protocols and maintain compliance with industry standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• 5–8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership or senior technical capacity.

• Strong understanding of enterprise data storage solutions (NetApp, EMC) and backup software (Commvault).

• Practical experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, and cloud computing services (Azure VMs, Azure Virtual Desktop).

• In-depth knowledge of enterprise network technologies for on-premises and hybrid/public cloud environments.

• Proficient in cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, identity, governance).

• Experienced in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and infrastructure as code/configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible).

• Certifications such as CCNP, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator/Expert, VMware VCP, or NetApp certifications are highly preferred.
