
Lead Housing Counseling Specialist – On Call Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including housing counseling agencies (HCAs) receiving technical support from HUD Federal Housing Administration (FHA), alongside companion offices and industry partners such as GSEs.
• The work is highly diverse within HUD’s single and multifamily programs, encompassing service delivery in areas like underwriting, loss mitigation, foreclosure prevention, reverse mortgages, and more.
• Create and conduct training sessions, conference presentations, workshops, and webinars.
• Facilitate technical assistance initiatives, either in-person or through virtual platforms using web-based software.
• Emphasize best practices and innovative strategies pertaining to HUD programs.
• Contribute to the creation of tools, preparation of reports, and formulation of policy guidance.
• Assist in identifying new business prospects, preparing proposals, and managing contracts as needed.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Public Administration, Planning, Public Policy, Government, or a related field, or a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a similar area.
• At least 10 years of expertise in HUD Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the housing counseling, and mortgage sectors, among others.
• Proven track record in developing and delivering training sessions, workshops, and webinars; conducting program assessments and evaluations; facilitating discussions, and public speaking to diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.
