This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Oversee the execution of all GIS service activities at customer locations.
• Ensure consistent service delivery and environmental protection throughout operations.
• Manage non-conformities (NCPs), facilitating prompt resolutions.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the GIS product unit, service teams, and clients.
• Lead and coordinate daily field resources to enhance project outcomes.
• Generate clear and timely reports on project progress, engineering challenges, and site variations.
• Conduct investigative site visits to evaluate equipment condition and failures.
• Contribute to the evaluation of contractors and performance assessments.
• Foster a robust safety culture and ensure compliance with GE governance, quality plans, and site standards.
• Plan and execute work according to the established schedule.
• Safety-focused and extensively experienced GIS specialist.
• Strong leadership abilities.
• Prior hands-on GIS experience, preferably authorized on GEV equipment (T155, F35, B105).
• Proficient in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of high voltage plant.
• Solid engineering foundation (C&G/ONC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering).
• IOSH Managing Safely and SSSTS certifications are required.
• Strong understanding of CDM regulations and responsibilities related to site leadership.
• Demonstrated capability to lead field teams and manage subcontractors and apprentices.
• Supervise daily site operations to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery.
• Skilled in primary plant construction, secondary wiring, and investigative site work in substations.
• Ability to diagnose equipment conditions and failures effectively.
• Communicate confidently with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare accurate reports, RAMS, NCRs, TQs, and quality documentation in accordance with GEV governance.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and resilient under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently or as part of a small team.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally—often at short notice—with a valid passport and driving license.
• Holds (or is able to obtain) MoD security clearance.
