Lead Engineer – Mobile, Full-Stack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the architecture, quality, and delivery of the React Native mobile application along with the React JS web interfaces for both iOS and Android platforms.

• Establish and uphold coding standards, patterns, and best practices for mobile and full-stack development.

• Promote the adoption of an A.I.-first engineering approach.

• Lead the decision-making process for the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with product objectives, timelines, and the wider engineering organization.

• Provide technical guidance in architecture, design, testing, and implementation, covering everything from native UI to BFF, backend API contracts, and LLM integration patterns.

• Conduct thorough code reviews and perform root cause analysis for critical production issues.

• Manage the end-to-end delivery of mobile and web features, from technical scoping to App Store/Play Store releases and production oversight.

• Decompose complex requirements into actionable engineering tasks, milestones, and clear ownership within a distributed team.

• Recognize and proactively address technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.

• Oversee and enhance CI/CD pipelines and release management processes for both platforms.

• Design and implement solutions with a focus on performance, security, and accessibility from the outset.

• Lead and mentor a geographically diverse team across two hubs (Americas and India), cultivating a strong engineering culture and clear accountability across different time zones.

• Collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders (Product, Design, QA, Backend) to create and maintain business solutions utilizing Agile principles.

• Engage in recruitment activities — reviewing resumes, conducting technical interviews, and assessing candidates; demonstrating proven experience in building and mentoring top-tier engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required experience with A.I.-first engineering as well as the use of Claude, Co-Pilot, and other related tools.

• Strong understanding of native iOS (Swift / Obj-C) and Android (Kotlin / Java) to effectively bridge gaps and collaborate on native modules.

• Proven full-stack expertise — comfortable taking ownership or collaborating on BFF/API layers, beyond just the mobile UI.

• Extensive experience in cross-browser and cross-platform development, including mobile and responsive UI.

• Proficiency in state management (Redux, Zustand, Recoil, or similar), REST APIs, GraphQL, and mobile-specific data-fetching patterns.

• A solid track record of successfully shipping production applications to the App Store and Google Play.

• Experience in developing and architecting high-transaction, high-throughput systems.

• Demonstrated capability to lead distributed teams, including contractors across different time zones, with a strong sense of personal accountability.

• Exceptional problem-solving abilities; detail-oriented, systematic, and skilled at translating complex business requirements into straightforward software solutions.

• Familiarity with CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and open-source technologies.

• A minimum of 10 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to mobile (React Native) and full-stack development.

• In-depth knowledge of React Native, React JS, TypeScript/JavaScript, and Node.js.
