Lead Engineer – Commercial Field Service

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Positioned at customer locations to provide support.

• A GE Aerospace Field Service Engineer (FSE) is mainly situated at the customer's site, assisting with on-site technical troubleshooting and addressing fleet management challenges.

• Provide technical guidance and support for customer operations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs of assigned fleets.

• Deliver timely and effective solutions that resolve customer issues and surpass their expectations, fostering loyalty and long-term partnerships.

• Monitor reliability and on-wing performance, which includes significant events, engine removals, delays, and cancellations.

• Advocate for airline stakeholders to implement essential reliability improvements.

• Influence maintenance planning to ensure the aircraft engine fleet's stability.

• Assess the effectiveness of maintenance actions to uncover opportunities for enhancement.

• Apply our FLIGHT DECK principles to achieve continuous improvement, identifying proactive reliability advancements.

• Generate data analytics and timely reports on fleet status, program updates, events, and trends for key internal stakeholders.

• Offer recommendations for proactive maintenance based on engine performance analytics.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor of Engineering or a technical degree from an accredited university or college (or relevant work experience).

• Experience in airline operations, maintenance planning, engineering, aviation propulsion, or other related fields.

• Technical knowledge of aircraft engines or turbomachinery equipment.

• Experience utilizing software or data analytics to inform technical decisions and provide recommendations to customers or other key internal stakeholders.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build deep relationships at all levels, not only with key internal stakeholders but also with customers.

• Proven expertise in maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, shop operations, and testing of jet engines.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

• Demonstrated analytical skills and quality improvement capability.

• Competence in making formal presentations to diverse audiences.

• Ability to collaborate with all levels of maintenance, engineering, and management.

• Experience in project management and Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.

• Proven ability to lead and influence customers and peers.

• Fluent in English – proficiency in the local language is an advantage.
