This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the technical direction, architecture, and implementation of HiddenLayer’s AI Attack Simulation product.
• Collaborate with Product and Security Research teams to establish product strategy, comprehend customer outcomes, shape the roadmap, and convert adversarial AI techniques into secure, scalable product functionalities.
• Create and develop agentic workflows, tool integrations, execution systems, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks.
• Implement an AI-first product development process across discovery, research, solution design, prototyping, implementation, validation, release, and ongoing enhancement.
• Ensure engineers grasp customer challenges and desired outcomes, contribute to product decisions, and assume responsibility beyond mere ticket execution.
• Stay actively involved with critical architecture, prototyping, implementation, and intricate technical problem-solving.
• Guide engineers, conduct technical reviews, assist in recruitment, and elevate standards for reliability, security, observability, and product excellence.
• Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership of complex production systems.
• Strong expertise in backend, distributed systems, and cloud-native engineering.
• Proven experience in establishing an AI-first product development workflow encompassing discovery, strategy, solution definition, implementation, validation, and outcome measurement.
• A history of guiding teams beyond ticket-based execution toward ownership of customer challenges, product trade-offs, and quantifiable outcomes.
• Experience in developing production AI or agentic systems involving tool usage, orchestration, structured outputs, state management, guardrails, and evaluation.
• Background in cybersecurity products or related fields such as offensive security, attack simulation, AI security, red teaming, penetration testing, or control validation.
• Strong proficiency in Go and familiarity with at least one additional production language, such as Python, Rust, Java, or TypeScript.
• Excellent product judgment and experience in direct collaboration with Product Management.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and lead through uncertainty.
• Preferred: experience with AI red teaming, adversarial machine learning, AI security evaluation, autonomous security testing, breach and attack simulation, adversary emulation, attack-path validation, continuous security validation products, AI-assisted product research and development, MITRE ATT&CK and/or ATLAS, agent orchestration technologies, AI evaluation datasets and regression frameworks, secure sandboxes, and enterprise/self-hosted/air-gapped/regulated software, along with experience in hiring and developing senior engineers.
