This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Direct the technical roadmap for the domain, ensuring it aligns with BCBSLA's reference architecture, standards, corporate strategy, application and technology portfolios, and enterprise data sourcing model.

• Create and uphold multiple domain roadmaps.

• Assist solution architects and collaborate with enterprise business architects and business stakeholders at all levels.

• Convert business requirements into effective solutions.

• Facilitate in-depth technical design discussions while keeping current with technical skills and industry trends.

• Present data supporting metrics for the Domain Architecture practice.

• Recognize innovation opportunities within the payer market, develop business cases, promote these opportunities, and conduct proofs of concept as necessary.

• Act as the Architecture Subject Matter Expert (SME) and serve as the designated Architecture Review Board Chair when required.

• Oversee architecture reviews, impact assessments, documentation, recommendations, publication of technical standards, and measurement of adherence.

• Provide architectural guidance for development projects involving web applications, relational databases, information security, servers, networking, and related technologies.

• Perform high-level analyses and design reviews to address conceptual challenges and prevent duplication of efforts and errors.

• Collaborate with vendors to incorporate technologies into the organization.

• Assess new technologies and suggest updates to technology standards, practices, and methodologies.

• Establish guiding principles and standards for engineers and the enterprise.

• Carry out other job-related duties within the scope of responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Applied Physics, or a similar technical field is required, or four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• A minimum of 7 years of technical leadership and hands-on technology implementation experience.

• At least four years of experience in software development, DevSecOps engineering, or systems administration.

• Three years of experience in technical architecture or data management.

• Advanced understanding of Enterprise Architecture practices, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), software development best practices and standards, and associated tools.

• Extensive demonstrable experience in leading the design and implementation of business application solutions for complex initiatives.

• Proficiency in at least three domains listed, including data architecture, data delivery, data governance, integration architecture, infrastructure architecture, cloud computing architecture, digital marketing architecture, security architecture, healthcare core administrative systems, enterprise provider management systems, care and disease management systems, ERP, CRM, DevSecOps, Azure, and AWS.

• Familiarity with infrastructure and security requirements, including HIPAA.

• Strong interpersonal, leadership, analytical, technical, written communication, verbal communication, planning, and organizational skills.

• Ability to comprehend both long-term and short-term perspectives.

• Skill in estimating the financial impact of alternatives.

• Capacity to apply various technical solutions to business challenges.

• Quick to understand the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

• Knowledgeable in many facets of enterprise technical architecture.

• Understanding of information principles and processes.

• Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.

• Awareness of network and security architecture.

• Understanding of the enterprise political climate and strategies to address political challenges.

• Pre-employment drug screening is required; an offer is contingent upon satisfactory results.
