This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Lead centralized Production Services by clearly defining ownership boundaries between central and distributed engineering teams.
• Coordinate production activities across various departments and teams in a matrixed environment to enhance resource utilization and efficiency.
• Establish and enforce operational governance, which includes standards, processes, best practices, and operating cadences across applications, infrastructure, and security domains.
• Oversee all facets of production operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards, timelines, and budgetary limits.
• Own production stability and resilience, guaranteeing predictable operations across all technology towers.
• Build and sustain robust relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with senior leadership regarding production performance, challenges, and opportunities for enhancement.
• Act as the central operational leader for production systems, maintaining an understanding of system health and emerging issues while coordinating cross-functional efforts to resolve conflicts, mitigate risks, and facilitate timely resolution of production challenges and bottlenecks.
• Drive initiatives focused on process improvement by leveraging data analysis and industry best practices to boost production efficiency and quality.
• Develop and execute production strategies that align with organizational objectives and promote operational excellence.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing team of production professionals, encouraging a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred; equivalent experience will be taken into account.
• 12+ years of experience in production operations, SRE leadership, infrastructure operations, or large-scale technology operations, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Demonstrated experience in a matrixed environment, with a strong grasp of cross-functional collaboration and leading without direct authority.
• Proficient in production management software and tools; familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
• Strong background in operational governance, process engineering, and incident/problem management.
• Proven capability to define and implement KPIs, OKRs, and operational dashboards, with prior experience in executive data analytics reporting.
• Executive presence and stakeholder management skills suitable for a regulated, high-visibility setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions based on data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
