Lead DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructures within Google Cloud Platform and Google Kubernetes Engine.

• Maintain and scale declarative infrastructure utilizing Terraform across a vast multi-hundred-file environment.

• Implement GitOps workflows using Atlantis.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.

• Manage enterprise networking perimeters, Istio service mesh architectures, and Kong API Gateways.

• Establish telemetry, log aggregation, and alerting systems to ensure high availability and rapid incident response.

• Enforce security measures including VPC-SC, IAM, and Organization Policies.

• Oversee identity and secrets management while maintaining SOC2 compliance standards.

• Participate in the operational on-call rotation.

• Drive DevOps initiatives, infrastructure automation, release management, and ensure production reliability, scalability, and security.


⛳️ Requirements

• Senior/Lead-level expertise in operating production workloads on GCP and GKE.

• In-depth understanding of GCP and Kubernetes, covering cluster topology, Helm, Kustomize, and ArgoCD.

• Advanced Terraform proficiency.

• Significant experience executing GitOps workflows at scale through Atlantis.

• Strong background in designing, building, and maintaining multi-stage automated deployment pipelines.

• High level of expertise in Istio, including VirtualServices, mTLS, and sidecar injection.

• Familiarity with Kong API Gateway.

• Practical experience with Auth0, Dex, ESO, SOPS, VPC-SC, and IAM.

• Operational experience with Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), BigQuery, Elasticsearch, or ClickHouse.

• Proficient in spoken and written English at least at an upper-intermediate level.

• Preferred: Experience with Ansible.

• Preferred: GCP Professional Cloud Architect, GCP Professional Security Engineer, CKA, or CKS certifications.

• Preferred: Experience with Loki, Grafana, or ClickHouse for telemetry and monitoring.
