Site Reliability Engineer Manager

📋 Description

• Oversee and guide teams of database experts, focusing on talent development and mentorship.

• Establish and execute database architecture strategies that align with organizational goals.

• Ensure performance, availability, and disaster recovery of essential production environments.

• Plan for capacity, scalability, and cost optimization within data infrastructure.

• Uphold policies for backup, replication, and disaster recovery.

• Spearhead modernization initiatives for data platforms and transitions to cloud environments.

• Create health, performance, and reliability metrics for data systems.

• Work alongside information security teams to enforce controls and safeguard sensitive information.

• Manage tuning processes, indexing, and query optimization in high-performance settings.

• Deploy automation and monitoring solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in leading database or data infrastructure teams (minimum of 2 years).

• Extensive knowledge in the administration and management of relational databases (SQL Server and PostgreSQL).

• Familiarity with distributed data platforms and NoSQL technologies (MongoDB and DynamoDB).

• Expertise in cloud architecture (AWS and Azure).

• Experience with replication, sharding, cluster management, and ensuring high availability.

• Understanding of data protection regulations such as LGPD, PCI-DSS, and BACEN (Central Bank of Brazil).

• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Grafana and Datadog).

• Capability to work independently and thrive in complex environments.

• Proven ability to communicate effectively at both technical and executive levels.

• Enthusiasm for continuous learning and adapting to emerging technologies.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and proficiency in root-cause analysis.

• Previous experience in financial institutions or regulated companies is advantageous.

• Familiarity with AI and machine learning for data performance optimization is a plus.

• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for databases is an asset.

• Advanced English proficiency is preferred.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is desirable.
