Lead DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee scalable, dependable Kubernetes-based infrastructure for personalization services.

• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines that safely deploy services (including ML models) to production — incorporating canary releases, rollbacks, and progressive delivery.

• Establish observability and monitoring using Prometheus, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana; define SLIs/SLOs and enforce error-budget discipline.

• Ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance of production APIs and streaming data pipelines.

• Collaborate with application, data, and ML engineers to seamlessly integrate their workloads into the platform.

• Implement autoscaling strategies (HPA, KEDA, traffic-driven) to accommodate variable and bursty traffic patterns.

• Manage Pub/Sub and event-driven architectures for real-time messaging, engagement analytics, and inter-service communication.

• Optimize hot-path services utilizing Redis, Memcached, and various caching strategies.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to latency, scaling, and reliability.


⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering.

• Strong background in Kubernetes and container orchestration.

• Practical experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.

• In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.

• Proficient in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and Helm.

• Experience with message queues and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.).

• Competence in monitoring and logging solutions (New Relic, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.).

• Strong scripting abilities in Python, Bash, or Go for automation purposes.

• Proven track record of managing production reliability, including SLIs/SLOs, incident response, and postmortems.
