This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and oversee analytical initiatives that shape product direction, business strategy, and clinical impact.
• Create predictive models and behavioral analyses to determine which clinicians utilize MDCalc, their engagement with clinical tools, and how usage trends change across specialties, care settings, and patient conditions.
• Examine extensive and intricate healthcare datasets, including clinician engagement, product usage patterns, and provider behavior, to reveal patterns, opportunities, and actionable insights.
• Engineer and execute reliable data pipelines, workflows, and dashboards that grow alongside MDCalc.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and clinical experts to convert data into product requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Establish experimentation frameworks and spearhead A/B testing to enhance product performance.
• Set benchmarks for data integrity, reproducibility, and quality, ensuring confidence in insights across the organization.
• Serve as a thought partner for leadership, articulating findings and recommendations clearly to facilitate strategic decision-making.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in applied data science, statistical modeling, or predictive analytics, preferably with healthcare, clinical, or provider behavior datasets.
• Solid foundation in statistical methods, predictive modeling, and machine learning principles.
• Proficiency in Python or R along with relevant data science libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, NumPy, or equivalent.
• Strong SQL skills and experience managing large datasets.
• Background in developing, assessing, and refining machine learning models in practical applications.
• Experience in designing and analyzing experiments and interpreting results with statistical rigor.
• Capability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
• Strong ownership mentality and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools like Tableau or Looker, with the ability to narrate compelling data stories to varied audiences.
• Expertise in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) and SQL, with a history of building production-grade predictive or statistical models.
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, recommendation systems, and causal inference.
• Proven success in leading data initiatives from conception to execution and influencing product roadmaps.
• Experience in designing experiments, conducting A/B tests, and evaluating product success through data.
• Preferred experience with healthcare, clinical, or life sciences datasets, including provider behavior, claims data, utilization data, or clinical decision support platforms.
