This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage commercial agreements and address regulatory and product inquiries related to a payments platform operating within a regulated environment.
• Oversee the daily legal requirements of a rapidly expanding company, relying primarily on your own judgment.
• Operate independently, collaborate directly with teams, and escalate genuinely innovative, high-risk, or strategic issues.
• Act as the primary legal partner for a range of product and business teams.
• Provide counsel on a wide array of legal matters, encompassing payments and FinTech, healthcare/MedSpa compliance, consumer protection, marketing, privacy, data governance, intellectual property, and dispute resolution.
• Lead the drafting, evaluation, negotiation, and administration of commercial contracts.
• Take ownership of and continually enhance contract templates, playbooks, and legal workflows.
• 6 to 11 years of combined experience at law firms and in-house, preferably with exposure to a SaaS, payments/fintech, or other regulated technology company.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
• Proven ability to work independently, managing matters from start to finish, and being trusted to make and defend decisions with minimal oversight.
• Strong understanding of technology and commercial contracting, with an instinct for balancing risk and efficiency.
• Ability to navigate commercial, regulatory, privacy, corporate, and employment issues, with the resourcefulness to quickly become knowledgeable about unfamiliar topics.
• A pragmatic, solutions-driven approach; you simplify complex issues for non-lawyers and are recognized as a facilitator rather than a hindrance.
• You excel in situations with incomplete information, competing demands, and a dynamic business environment.
• Familiarity with payments or fintech regulations (money movement, processor or card-network rules) is a plus.
• Knowledge of healthcare, wellness, or other regulated consumer sectors is advantageous.
• Privacy experience (CCPA/CPRA, GDPR) beyond just contractual data terms is preferred.
• Experience as an early or sole in-house attorney in a high-growth organization is a plus.
• 401(k) matching along with dental, medical, vision, and life insurance coverage.
• Flexible vacation policy.
• Fully remote work arrangement with a monthly stipend for home office expenses.
• Family planning resources and specialized support programs.
• Opportunities for equity participation.
