This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Supervise and implement technical, construction, and commissioning tasks at customer locations.
• Manage the entire commissioning process, from site mobilization to the final handover.
• Coordinate civil works, erection efforts, and system commissioning activities.
• Advocate for and maintain GE Vernova EHS and site safety protocols.
• Lead the testing and commissioning of substation equipment, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and approved quality standards.
• Direct daily commissioning resources, assign tasks, and organize site activities.
• Prepare, distribute, and manage site documentation such as RAMS, NCRs, and TQs.
• Serve as the LV Authorised Person (Advanced) during incidents and complex site situations.
• Independently tackle commissioning challenges and assist with minor upgrades.
• Liaise with Site Managers, Project Engineers, clients, and multidisciplinary on-site teams.
• Organize commissioning tasks in accordance with agreed schedules while ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• A Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Extensive commissioning experience and thorough knowledge of HV substation systems.
• Strong technical background with HV substation protection relays, SCADA systems, IEC 61850 protocols, and the commissioning of HV/LV switchgear and related equipment.
• Demonstrated fault-finding skills on protection schemes utilizing Omicron, Programma, and Megger.
• Excellent analytical and diagnostic abilities.
• Proficient in computer usage and comfortable with digital tools, documentation systems, and testing software.
• Practical knowledge of construction and field service operations.
• Experience ideally acquired in high-voltage transmission or grid-integration projects.
• Familiarity with North & South Europe Grid System Integration (GSI) or similar turnkey HV project environments supporting AC and DC transmission solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration capabilities across multidisciplinary teams and various countries.
• Willingness to travel extensively for projects and field assignments.
• Openness to work overtime as necessary based on field assignments.
• Ability to function as an LV Authorised Person (Advanced) and implement GE Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work procedures.
