Lead Cloud Engineer, DevOps – GCP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform utilizing Terraform and best practices in Infrastructure as Code.

• Oversee Kubernetes (GKE) environments, guaranteeing scalability, reliability, and effective resource utilization.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Jenkins to facilitate dependable software delivery.

• Monitor the health of infrastructure through observability, logging, alerting, and enhancements in incident response.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to support analytics platforms and data pipelines constructed on Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, and BigQuery.

• Sustain and modernize hybrid infrastructure that includes Windows Server, Oracle, SQL Server, and legacy AWS environments.

• Enhance identity and access management by deploying modern authentication solutions such as Workload Identity and OIDC.

• Identify and rectify infrastructure drift while ensuring that environments remain secure, reproducible, and cost-efficient.

• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external infrastructure providers to perpetually enhance platform reliability and cloud standards.

• Mentor engineers and advocate for DevOps best practices, automation, and operational excellence throughout the organization.


⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, or Platform Engineering.

• Strong practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (experience with AWS or Azure is also appreciated if willing to learn GCP).

• Advanced proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including state management and drift detection.

• Production experience in managing Kubernetes environments (GKE preferred).

• Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.

• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, security, and infrastructure automation.

• Experience in supporting hybrid environments that integrate modern cloud infrastructure with legacy Windows and database platforms.

• Familiarity with data platforms such as Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, or BigQuery.

• Scripting experience in Python or Bash.

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Advanced English communication proficiency.

• Nice to Have: Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or Windows Server administration.

• Nice to Have: Experience with Auth0, OIDC, or contemporary identity management solutions.

• Nice to Have: Knowledge of FinOps or cloud cost optimization practices.

• Nice to Have: Experience in supporting large-scale analytics or data platform infrastructure.

• Nice to Have: Previous experience mentoring engineers or leading DevOps initiatives.
