This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead design evaluations across various areas including: site layout, grading and drainage design, stormwater modeling and design, erosion and sediment control design, access road design, utility coordination and design, as well as retaining wall layout and design.

• Ensure quality assurance for civil components of substation projects, verifying that designs comply with safety and performance standards.

• Collaborate with other technical disciplines on complex multidisciplinary projects.

• Supervise the development of bid and construction packages, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget.

• Serve as the lead engineer on client projects, offering technical oversight and ensuring that deliverables surpass expectations.

• Represent Leidos in client-facing activities such as kick-off meetings, lunch-and-learns, and industry events.

• Conduct site visits to projects, including new developments, substation facilities, transmission lines, and more, applying field insights to enhance design and execution.

• Promote quality control and safe work practices, integrating compliance and reliability into every project.

• Engage in coaching, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior team members, supporting their technical development and fostering a collaborative team environment.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

• At least 7 years of relevant civil-site design experience.

• Demonstrated experience as an engineer of record or lead engineer on projects conducting QC reviews.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D software (preferred) and/or MicroStation OpenSite Designer software.

• Experience with Hydraflow and various other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design programs.

• Ability to execute projects and manage client interactions effectively with minimal supervision.

• Experience with high-voltage substation projects is strongly preferred.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and other general software tools.

• Strong analytical and technical writing capabilities.
