This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Expand our Core Services Ecosystem: You will contribute to the design and construction of the backend systems that our Customers and internal teams utilize daily.
• Address Challenges: Your primary duty as an Engineer is to solve problems. You have various tools at your disposal, including Development, communication, and new processes.
• Technical Responsibilities: Write (or learn to write) sustainable, testable, high-quality, and high-performance code, and be open to mentorship in mastering these skills.
• Collaboration: Take initiative, ask questions, and engage in discussions regarding testing and code quality.
• Embrace DevOps Practices: Enhance our processes, feedback mechanisms, systems, culture, and workflows.
• Promote a Culture of Monitoring and Observability: Be willing to learn how to utilize operational data to assist your team in improving the stability and performance of our systems.

• Experience: A minimum of 4 years in developing integration software systems.
• Team and Project Experience: Proven experience working on teams and projects that have engaged with E-commerce APIs and distributed systems.
• Code Quality: You produce code that is easily readable, testable, and maintainable.
• Familiarity with Technology Stack: Experience with some or all of our technology stack, including Backend (Java) with some Python and Go, AWS tools (ECS, Lambdas), CI/CD (Pulumi, Jenkins), and Observability (DataDog).
• Documentation Skills: Good practices in technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Process Understanding: Familiarity with the principle of people over process (Agile) while recognizing that effective processes lead to improved outcomes (DevOps).
• Workflow Hygiene: Awareness of the significance of well-defined user stories/tasks and estimation.
• Ambiguity Management: Ability to navigate the uncertainty of a rapidly growing company by adapting to shifting priorities and seeking assistance when guidance is scarce and information is incomplete.
• Strong Communication Skills: Value the importance of sharing and collaborating with peers, both verbally and in writing (in Spanish, with the capability to communicate with vendors or teammates in English as necessary).
• Team Collaboration: You thrive in team projects involving multiple stakeholders and contributors, and are comfortable participating in technical projects for your team.

• Fintech Experience: Prior experience in Fintechs with Backend/API teams.
• Backend Patterns: Comfortable discussing and working with common backend patterns.
• Familiarity with DevOps: Knowledge of the State of DevOps.
• Incident Response: Experience with or knowledge of On-call and Incident Response processes.
• Value Delivery: You prefer regular, incremental delivery of value over striving for perfection.
