Lead Automotive – Industrial Design Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Diagnose customer issues and develop strategic plans.

• Collaborate with customers to comprehend their current design and engineering workflows, challenges, stakeholders, and success metrics.

• Identify the problem areas in new accounts, workflows, or unfamiliar customer contexts, and effectively communicate the advantages of utilizing Gravity Sketch compared to their conventional processes.

• Convert discovery insights into well-defined engagement strategies, rollout suggestions, workshop plans, and customer-facing presentations.

• Establish success criteria for customer engagements, encompassing adoption objectives, workflow results, and measurable impacts.

• Oversee advanced consulting projects.

• Manage complex onboarding initiatives, advanced workshops, pilot programs, demonstrations, and workflow transformation engagements.

• Collaborate across design, engineering, visualization, CMF, leadership, and other customer teams.

• Customize delivery for various audiences, from hands-on designers to senior stakeholders.

• Assist customers in understanding how Gravity Sketch integrates into automotive and industrial design workflows, including concept development, collaboration, review, and commercialization.

• Establish best practices and influence the team.

• Create and disseminate best practices, reusable frameworks, workshop formats, and workflow methodologies.

• Influence the delivery approach of the broader Design Consulting team through your contributions and expertise.

• Develop scalable training and enablement materials that can be adapted across customers and sectors.

• Mentor and support fellow Design Consultants in planning and executing high-quality customer engagements.

• Engage in cross-functional partnerships.

• Collaborate closely with Customer Success Managers to synchronize account strategies, customer health, rollout plans, and adoption priorities.

• Work alongside Sales on late-stage opportunities and strategic demonstrations where workflow credibility is vital.

• Provide structured feedback to Product based on actual customer workflows, challenges, and opportunities.

• Aid internal teams in grasping the customer problem landscape and the value that Gravity Sketch can unlock.

• Measure and convey impact.

• Define and monitor success metrics across engagements.

• Create compelling narratives surrounding adoption, workflow transformation, customer value, and ROI.

• Clearly communicate outcomes to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Identify areas where additional resources, content, product support, or commercial alignment are required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Located in the UK or Europe, with the ability to travel for customer workshops, internal meetings, and strategic engagements as necessary.

• Extensive experience in automotive design, industrial design, design technology, design consulting, or customer-facing workflow transformation, ideally 8+ years.

• Solid understanding of automotive design workflows, from concept through Class-A surfacing to visualization.

• Passion and curiosity: A deep interest in VR, design, and the understanding of product development; a curious mindset that enjoys delving into problems to find solutions.

• Familiarity with design software, 3D tools, CAD, VR, visualization, or related creative technologies. This may include tools such as Gravity Sketch, Rhino, Alias, CATIA, Blender, KeyShot, Modo, Vizcom, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.

• While deep expertise in every tool is not necessary, the ability to swiftly comprehend unfamiliar workflows and identify where a tool can deliver customer value is essential.

• Exceptional ability to structure ambiguity: discovery, synthesis, problem framing, planning, and formulating recommendations.

• Outstanding deck-building and storytelling capabilities, able to transform customer context into a coherent plan or proposal.

• Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders as well as hands-on users.

• Highly self-motivated and capable of leading engagements without close supervision.

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-impact projects simultaneously.

• A strong commercial acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with Customer Success and Sales teams.

• People-oriented: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficient listening and relationship-building abilities; capable of adapting communication styles to various personality types.

• Curious, practical, positive, and motivated by assisting customers in adopting innovative working methods.
