Lead Analyst, Data Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Manage the incoming request queue and prioritize all L1/L2 Data Desk tickets.

• Classify requests into categories such as Logic, Exports, Ops, and Finance, and direct them to the appropriate pod lead or analyst.

• Track queue SLA performance and highlight any potential blockers before they result in breaches.

• Update and enhance the triage playbook as request trends change.

• Recognize recurring requests suitable for automation.

• Collaborate with Pod Leads to define, design, and deliver self-service dashboards and automated data pipelines.

• Work with Analytics Engineering to ensure that automated outputs adhere to data quality and governance standards.

• Conduct thorough reviews of 100% of entry-level analyst code.

• Evaluate SQL, LookML, and dashboard logic for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with the Sun King Data Standard.

• Facilitate daily stand-ups and hold regular one-on-ones with direct reports.

• Guide new Freshers through Data Desk processes, tools, and quality expectations.

• Serve as a representative for the Data Desk in cross-functional meetings when the Head of Data Ops is unavailable.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

• 4–9 years of experience in data, analytics, or data operations roles.

• A minimum of 1–2 years of experience with direct oversight of reviewing, mentoring, or managing junior data analysts.

• Proven ability to convert repetitive manual tasks into automated or self-service solutions.

• Strong practical skills in SQL.

• Familiarity with LookML or similar BI layer logic, including tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Metabase.

• Understanding of AWS-based data environments.
